Support for Teens & Women Who Want to Feel Seen and Understood
My practice is devoted to helping adolescent girls and young women navigate anxiety, depression, perfectionism, social pressures, and life transitions with greater confidence and emotional balance. Through personalized, relational therapy, I provide a grounded and affirming space that supports healing, self-discovery, and long-term emotional wellness.
I believe therapy should feel both safe and restorative. My mission is to provide my clients with a thoughtful, personalized therapeutic experience that fosters emotional resilience, self-worth, and authentic connection while helping them manage anxiety, depression, and the challenges of growing up in today’s world.
Collaboration is the foundation of my therapeutic approach. Let me help you discover how to overcome your fears and live the life you deserve.

Who I Am
As an adolescent, I struggled with feeling that my emotional life had to be hidden and was something to be ashamed of. It was indicated to me that my beliefs were not as important to my parents and teachers as my grades and academic accomplishments. I felt unheard and unseen. I did not feel that I fit in with my peers, and I often felt alone. I looked outside of myself for comfort and found myself lost.
I was an artist in my first career, and a teaching artist at that. I worked at City Museum as the "Painting Princess" for a number of years, and then went out on my own and taught at schools, working to create a connection between self-esteem and art-making with the use of recycled materials. After the death of my father and the end of my marriage, when my daughter was in elementary school, I decided to return to school and get my Master's Degree in Social Work. My goal was to work with teens and young women and help them find their truth, emotional safety, and comfort in the world. I often use CBT, MI, and mindfulness in my work with clients, as well as creative work such as collage and drawing. I help adolescents, young women, and female-identifying individuals find themselves and become their best selves; become happy, safe and whole.

Client Reviews
“Leigh was a very important part of our daughter’s life for several years. She helped her to understand that her feelings were valid and gave her confidence to continue with her education.”
— Parent, Logos School
“I just want to thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I was probably at the lowest point in my life until you saved me. I enjoy talking to you every week. You are very relatable and funny. You helped me through many dark and sad times. Thank you for helping me with my bullies and many things. You’ve not only helped me with bullies, but helped me see that I want to live. I see a reason to live because of you and your support. I find reasons to show up to school. You give me reasons to live and keep moving forward. I just want to say I’m so grateful for you and all your great work.”
— Anonymous, Bayless Junior High School
“I've never got the chance to say this, but you've helped me find myself a lot. And you've helped me understand my worth so much. And I'll forever appreciate you.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Finding the right therapist is personal. It’s important that you feel connected, respected, seen and heard. I want you to feel comfortable enough to show up for yourself in the space we create together. If we are a good fit, you will feel comfortable, understood and emotionally safe. Now, this doesn’t always automatically happen in the first session. Sometimes it takes a minute to get to know each other!
-
Give me a call or email me and we can set up an introductory 15 minute appointment virtually or via phone. After that we can schedule an appointment or a series of appointments, if you like.
-
Absolutely not! The therapeutic relationship takes time to build trust, just like any relationship. I only ask that you come to my space with an open mind.
-
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential and not shared with others without your written consent. Your privacy is a key part of creating a safe space for you to feel seen and heard. There are a few important exceptions to confidentiality required by law. These include situations where there is concern about imminent risk of harm to you or others, or of abuse or neglect of a child, elder, vulnerable adult, or if records are required by court order.
-
No, I don’t. I believe that therapy works best when teens have a space where they can speak openly and honestly and feel safe that what they say stays in that safe space. In general, what you share in therapy is kept private and confidential. At the same time, parents/guardians are an important part of support. My job is to balance your privacy with healthy parent involvement in a thoughtful and developmentally appropriate way. Rather than sharing details, I focus on overall themes, progress, and ways parents can best support you outside of therapy. Confidentiality cannot always be maintained, however, including concerns related to safety. As a social worker, I am a mandated reporter and that means that I am mandated by state law to share information that you share with me if someone is hurting you, if you are hurting someone, or if you are harming yourself. If those concerns arise, I will do my best to approach those conversations with honesty, care and collaboration.
-
I do not. I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. A valid card is kept securely on file and will be charged on the day that services are provided. I can, however, provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through their insurance plan.

A 50-minute session is $150. An additional 30 minutes can be added in advance to a session for $75.

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows me the opportunity to offer the time to another client in need of support. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed sessions, will be charged the full session fee of $150. Thank you for understanding and for valuing the time and care dedicated to the therapy process.
-
Most clients begin therapy with weekly sessions, as meeting consistently builds momentum and strengthens the therapeutic relationship. This will also create meaningful progress over time.

I do! I offer secure Telehealth sessions for clients located in Missouri. Virtual therapy allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space while maintaining the same collaborative approach as in-person therapy. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and convenience that Telehealth has to offer. All virtual sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant platform to protect your confidentiality and privacy.
